Be it plants, animals, or human beings, all of us need water to live. Without water, there cannot be any life on earth. Water is crucial to our survival because 60% of our body weight contains water and it’s used in all the tissues, organs, and cells, to help maintain your bodily functions and regulate body temperature. We keep losing water when we breathe, sweat, or digest food. That’s why we should always keep ourselves hydrated and can also drink fluids and eat food that comprises water.
You may think water is not that important and you may not give its importance due attention. In actuality, you can risk your health and the balance your body keeps maintained by not drinking water more often. Where we take these blessings of life for granted, we should never forget what God has bestowed upon us and how we will cease to exist if we don’t make the most out of it.
How water affects our lives?
Water has a major influence on our lives in many ways. It helps in creating saliva as water is its main component. It helps break down solid food so that our mouth is healthy. If you experience a drier mouth than usual, you should increase the intake of water because that means you’re particularly dehydrated. If that still does not work, you should immediately consult your doctor.
We stay hydrated so our body temperature is maintained and is normal at all times. Since we lose water due to the change in weather (when it gets really hot), when we sweat or are engaged in physical activities or exercises more. Our bodies respond differently to thirst based on our activities. We should make sure that we maintain the right ratio and drink at least 7 – 8 glasses of water in a day. If we fail to replace the water we are losing, the temperature of our body will rise causing dehydration which can ultimately cause the levels of plasma and electrolytes to fall.
Water also supports our body in different cognitive functions. To stay in good mental shape, we should take an adequate amount of water so that its impact on our memory, focus, and alertness is not affected. Moreover, water protects our joints, tissues, and spinal cord. It helps us in being more active physically and diminishes the uneasiness that is caused by conditions like arthritis.
Our bodies constantly use water to pass healthy intestine movements, urinate, and sweat. We need to replace water so we can cover up that loss. With the help of water, we are able to pass stools easily and avoid the discomfort of constipation. It helps our kidneys in working more efficiently, thus stopping the risk of kidney stones. Since water is such a necessity in our daily life, except for inner bodily functions, water enhances our physical performance as well. Drinking water in abundance while exercising or working out, participating actively in sports, or just watching a movie, is quite important.
When we keep ourselves hydrated, our power, endurance, and strength are also affected. Not just this, our energy levels are given a boost as well as water helps in maintaining a great
metabolic rate, which in turn, impacts our energy levels. If we don’t stay hydrated, we can suffer from serious medical incidents, for example, seizures and in even worse cases, death.
Thus, water prevents dehydration which is a result of our body not getting a sufficient amount of water. Dehydration can cause your brain to swell, kidney failure, and also seizures, so you should always remember to keep yourself hydrated to prevent yourself from getting affected by any of these diseases. Your body is a blessing as well and if it performs all the functions perfectly, then you should be highly grateful. You should try to drink as much water as you can, take breaks in between, but drink it more often.
This way you will make it a habit and when you don’t drink enough water, your brain will automatically stimulate that thirst causing you to drink more. You will see how fresh, active, and good you will feel only when your body will get adequate water. It’s all about how you take care of your health and incorporate a well-balanced and healthy diet into your routine.
How much does a liter of water weigh?
The volume of water can be measured in liters. Whereas for solids, water is usually measured in kilograms (kg). Water is mostly stored in containers and each container’s capacity is mentioned in liters as well. 1 liter of water has a weight of 1 kilogram. We should try to start drinking at least 2 liters of water daily to make ourselves habitual and prevent any further loss or disease. If we don’t take care of ourselves, no one else will as well. Your body deserves to be healthy and your brain requires the energy it needs to process everyday functions and help you work effectively.
